What`s Involved?
Each class will start with warm up games. These will develop through the course, and become more judo specific. After warm ups, the class will move to practice of basic Judo techniques. Great emphasis is placed upon learning to fall correctly and safely. This gives the student the opportunity to develop body awareness and create a good sense of balance leading to greater confidence when working with a partner. The 5 to 11 year age group courses will be games based learning, and the emphasise for the older group will also be a fun co-operative learning style , before long everyone can pick up the basics, and will become competent & confident enough to move into the main class.
The 6 week Introductory Judo Course Covers:
Fundamental Skills: Basic ukemi (rolls and break-falls)
Standing techniques: Basic throws and grip variations
