Testimonials
_______________________________________________________________ 'I’ve always wanted to learn a martial art and Aikido seemed to be the one that would suit me the most since the philosophy behind is very interesting and it is not about how strong you are (I’m somewhat of a tiny-framed girl) but more technique-based and calmness of the mind. So I enrolled in Ray’s 6-week ‘introductory course’ in October 2011, thinking ‘if I don’t like it, I can still drop out’. The truth is I loved it, I joined the club after that and met loads of really nice friendly people. I love going every week and practice with the gang, it keeps my fitness levels up, and the lessons are always fun-filled and different, covering all aspects of this martial art, both weapons and empty-handed techniques. I never thought I would be able to do it, but Ray proved me wrong! :0)' Lola

____________________________________________________________ Our son started judo with Ronindo only a matter of weeks ago and the boost it has given his confidence is just incredible! He’s an active kid and loves his sport in general (playing rugby for a local team & attending climbing club each week). Judo was recommended by a friend and as dad had attended Judo as a teen he encouraged our son to give it a go; he absolutely loves it and just bursts with excitement every week watching the clock until it’s finally time to go! Ray is exceptionally patient with the kids and brilliant at explaining things at their level. There is a mutual respect in the entire class that is wonderful to see in children. I would highly recommend Ronindo classes to any parent considering Judo for their child. Thank you Ray and the team and, in my son’s words, ‘Judo is epic’!!

____________________________________________________________ My daughter started Judo at your club in May 2007. During the past 3 and a half years she has become very confident, hard-working and respectful in all aspects of her life. I believe Judo has a large part to play in this. She is always excited to take part in Rays classes and has become, I think, a very competent judoka. Ray is both respectful and patient towards all his students. His passion for the sport is obvious and this has certainly rubbed of on my daughter. My daughter loves to compete and has entered many competitions all of which Ray has attended, and this level of support has been much appreciated. My daughter loves her judo classes and I love to see my daughter happy. Many thanks

______________________________________________________________ "Generally I find it hard to switch off, but I quickly forgot any stressful thoughts and almost felt weightless as if I was drifting on a cloud. The calming music and Jennifer's soothing hands made it possible to completely unwind and relax. I didn't want it to end!"

______________________________________________________________ (Reiki) "Jennifer's calming and professional manner immediately set me at ease. The relaxing music and gentle scented candle both helped me to become comfortable, and once the treatment began I began to feel increasingly peaceful - I could literally feel the tension and stress leaving my body. In fact, I was so relaxed that I was surprised when the end of the treatment came - it had been almost an hour but I had completely lost track of time! I left feeling refreshed and revitalised, almost as though I had been asleep for days. Wonderful!" ____________________________________________________________

My son is really enthusiastic about Aikido and always looks forward to his Wednesday sessions. He enjoys interacting with interesting people and has gained much confidence by practising this martial art. ______________________________________________________________

Since I have started Ronindo Budo Kai, my fitness levels have improved. The rhythm of the sessions has contributed to increasing my metabolism and improved my muscle tone. I am also left with a sense of well-being that lasts for the rest of the week. Aikido is really empowering and clearly has a positive impact on my everyday life.

_______________________________________________________________________ My granddaughter thoroughly enjoys her Judo sessions. Starting a new activity in your teen’s, especially a physical one, can be quite daunting, but the warmth and friendliness of the club enabled her to settle immediately. Her confidence and mobility have improved and her levels of concentration are definitely better. My thanks to Ray and the club for encouraging self-discipline and respect for all.

______________________________________________________________________ My daughter has changed from being a timid little girl onto a confident decision making child. She adores Ray, everything he says goes! She loves Judo with the rough and tumble, whilst also learning Japanese! My daughter has shown a true love for this sport. Watch out for the Olympics!!

______________________________________________________________________ A little over two years ago my phone rang….It was Ray on the other end saying that he to take over the running of Ronindo and start a professional company using Ronindo as a sort of spring board, and that Ray was resigning from his job at Comet to set the whole thing up. (Great idea I thought, but is the man mad or what?) A short time on and I sit each Friday at Totnes and watch in awe of how the club has changed. We used to have some very “Prima Dona” players and equally “Prima Dona” parents, all gone! So what are we left with? Happily a completely new membership who are on the mat for a very enjoyable time, learning what I have always believed to be one of the greatest sports of all time and we don’t have a single player thinking they are better than anyone else! I like that! Not that I would put former players down too hard, our record of achievement over the years speaks for it’s self. Just have a look in the Ronindo scrapbook (on the desk every Friday) to see for yourself. With nearly thirty years experience and involvement in Judo I honestly believe our club is on the way up again, after a couple of years of draught. Thanks to Ray’s driving force and ambition to be a professional coach and his belief in success. Nothing succeeds like success and it’s thanks also to the players and all you parents for supporting us every Friday night and when Danny has turned up, he puts in his knowledge that only comes from worldwide expertise. For now I can only say I’m proud to be part of the organisation and thank my fellow committee members for their help, and wish Ray the very best for what I’m sure is going to be a bright future. Good luck Roger (Chairman Ronindo Judo Kai)
